Originally from New York City, Jake Sloane is a Co-Founder of Current. He is also co-founder of ZBS Partners, Current United, Legacy Service Partners, Rocket Youth Brands, and Alliance Animal Health. Prior to this, Jake was an associate at Carlyle where he diligenced and oversaw investments in the healthcare space. Prior to Carlyle, Jake worked at Blackstone in their Mergers & Acquisitions group where he worked with media, chemicals, and financial services companies. Jake is a Trustee of the Heckscher Foundation for Children. Jake received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Political Science from Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude.

Originally from Irvine, California, Frank Zhang is a Co-Founder of Current. He is also co-founder of ZBS Partners, Crete United, Legacy Service Partners, Rocket Youth Brands, and Alliance Animal Health. Prior to this, Frank was an associate at Apollo where he diligenced and oversaw investments in gaming & leisure, metals & mining, security, and publishing. Prior to Apollo, Frank worked at Blackstone in their Mergers & Acquisitions group where he worked with companies in oil & gas, utilities, and chemicals. Frank received an MBA from Harvard Business School as well as a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B. S. in Economics (Finance) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Steve Stagner serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Current. Steve previously served as an Operating Partner in the LightBay Capital Operating Performance Group. His experience with LightBay, since 2020, varied from Executive Chairman of Alliance Animal Health, Clarion Home Services Group, Infinity Home Services, and Foundry Brands to interim Chief Executive Officer at Clarion Home Services Group, leading all operations for the residential HVAC platform. As Executive Chairman for the various portfolio companies, he was responsible for guiding portfolio companies and their leadership teams to formalize their strategic roadmap, driving sustainable growth while optimizing the human capital team. Before joining LightBay Capital, Steve was Executive Chairman and CEO of Mattress Firm, the nation’s leading specialty retailer of mattresses that operated over 2,500 company-owned and franchised locations. During his 23-year tenure, Steve led various stages of growth, from starting with one location and building the largest franchise to leading the parent company’s expansion from ~$250m in annual revenue to over $2.5b in yearly revenue and ~$250m in EBITDA. He also led the company through two Private Equity leveraged buyouts, listed the company on NASDAQ (MFRM), and sold for ~$3.8b to an international conglomerate. Mr. Stagner sits on several operating and advisory boards while significantly contributing to various philanthropic endeavors.

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Leslie Adler is Current's General Counsel and Head of Enterprise Risk. In this role, Leslie is spearheading Current's legal, compliance and culture driven initiatives to support Current's strategic goals, partner firms and people. Prior to this, Leslie was General Counsel of Marcum LLP, a top 15 accounting firm in the United States, where she advised the firm on legal matters regarding internal governance, operations, employment and personnel matters, regulatory issues and risk management. Leslie received a Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in Political Science from SUNY Binghamton where she graduated summa cum laude.

Josh Funk is the Chief Development Officer of Current. He is also the Chief Financial Officer of ZBS Partners. Prior to joining Current, Josh was a practicing CPA in Minnesota for 25 years. As a Partner at Ballenthin, Funk and Johnson, LLP his career evolved from audit and tax work to primarily transaction services. In the last 10 years of his public accounting career, Josh was an advisor on either the buy-side or sell-side of well over 200 transactions with total proceeds in-excess of $2 billion. Personally and professionally, Josh finds great satisfaction in excelling at everything he is involved in. From bowling, billiards, growing a CPA firm, to mentoring team members, Josh will work hard to be great and help others be great at everything they do.

Hendre Ackermann joined Current as Group CFO in July 2025, bringing more than two decades of global leadership experience across finance, M&A, strategic transformation, and operational excellence. A Chartered Accountant (SA) with an Executive MBA from London Business School, Hendre has held senior roles across industries including consumer goods, marketing & media, mining, and retail—successfully leading turnarounds, scaling businesses, and managing P&Ls ranging from $50M to multi-billion dollars. His previous roles include CEO of Foundry Brands, CFO & COO of Mattress Firm, and leadership positions at Gravity Global, BHP Billiton, and Steinhoff International. A dedicated philanthropist, Hendre is also a founding member of Napoleon '99, a charity committed to improving access to education for disadvantaged children.

Tucker Haas joined Current as CTO in January 2025 to help bring transformational technology to the Current network. Prior to this, Tucker was the VP of Engineering at Homebot, a real estate technology platform serving over 11M US homeowners, where he led software engineering, data, security, and AI, spearheading the development of the leading ML prediction for homebuyers and building a top 10 home search site in the US. Tucker was also the founder and CEO of Quo, a venture-backed tech-enabled mortgage startup, that was acquired by Homebot in 2023. He received his BS in Computer Science from Stanford University and enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and building apps in his free time.

Billy Emory is the Group Chief Accounting Officer at Current, where he provides enterprise-level financial leadership and strategic guidance to support the firm’s mission of Accelerating Potential. He oversees the development of platform-wide accounting strategy, elevates processes and controls, and advances Current’s technology and data capabilities to ensure scalable, insight-driven decision support across the group and its member firms. Billy brings global experience spanning finance, strategy, commercial operations, and large-scale transformation. Known for combining financial stewardship with sharp business partnership, he has led complex organizational change efforts that strengthened governance, improved operating performance, and enabled sustainable growth. His leadership approach emphasizes disciplined frameworks, strategic planning, and the enablement of lean, technology-driven processes. Before joining Current, Billy held senior finance and operational roles at several multi-billion-dollar global industrial companies. As CXO and CAO at Hayward Holdings, he partnered closely with the CEO on enterprise strategy, redesigned the global customer experience organization, and led the post-IPO buildout of the global FP&A, accounting and tax functions. His work included the remediation of material weaknesses, the establishment of SEC reporting capabilities, and the creation of a scalable, public-company finance infrastructure. Previously, as Global Controller at SPX FLOW, Billy led a transformation of the global financial close process, spanning more than 30 countries and shared services, reducing the close cycle from 10 days to 5 while enhancing accuracy and governance. Earlier in his career, he served as a Director in PwC’s Assurance practice, including an international assignment in Dublin, Ireland, advising global clients on financial reporting and compliance. Billy is a Certified Public Accountant (NC) and holds an M.S. in Accounting from Wake Forest University and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Nick Nickitas is a seasoned entrepreneur who has built and scaled successful software startups across multiple industries around the world. He currently serves as Chief Growth Officer at Current, where he oversees Regional Leadership, M&A Integration, Global Delivery, Enterprise HR, and Brand & Marketing. Prior to joining Current, Nick was General Manager at Instacart, leading the Independent Grocery & Mid-Market Retail Partnerships businesses to 12X growth over 36 months. Before Instacart, Nick founded and served as CEO of Rosie, a high-growth e-commerce platform that enabled local grocers to compete with national chains and online marketplaces. Rosie was acquired by Instacart in September 2022. Nick brings energy and enthusiasm to everything he does, particularly in the classroom, where he has taught entrepreneurship and strategy at Cornell University and Lehigh University.

As SVP of Brand and Integration at Current, Lisa Hillmer-Poole leads the firm’s organic and inorganic growth initiatives, overseeing brand strategy, communications, marketing, and business development support throughout the M&A lifecycle. With 18 years of global marketing agency experience, she has held leadership roles spanning Client Services, Brand Strategy, Operations, and Digital Experience, guiding brands like Budweiser, Bell Helicopter, NVIDIA, and Phillips 66. Lisa has managed distributed teams across the U.S., Asia, and Europe, helped build a tech-agnostic development team in Vietnam, and led end-to-end acquisition processes—from target identification to rebrand, integration, and go-to-market execution. Known for bringing confidence, clarity, and consistency across teams, brands, and experiences, Lisa helps unify vision and drive growth across Current’s expanding network.

Rick Paster is SVP of Enterprise Integrations & Program Management at Current. In this role, Rick is responsible for partnering with Current’s Business Development team and partner firm leaders to establish and implement Current’s mergers & acquisitions integration strategy. Rick has worked in mergers & acquisitions for the past 12 years, including stints at CBRE, Peloton & Walmart. In these roles, Rick built robust and repeatable processes for mergers & acquisitions due diligence and post-merger integration and separation. Prior to his M&A experience, Rick spent 15 years focused on digital transformation at American Express and Citibank. Rick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Syracuse University.

Jake Benedict serves as the VP of M&A of Current. In this role, Jake helps to build Current’s growing network of partner firms. Prior to Current, Jake was an investor in venture and growth stage technology businesses at Valor Equity Partners. Prior to Valor, Jake worked at New Mountain Capital, one of the earliest and most active investors in the accounting industry. Jake started his career at Bain and Company and received an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Agriculture from Cornell University. When he’s not working on deals, Jake can be found cooking – he has worked in and around professional kitchens but somehow still has to check the side of the box on the pancake mix.

Lucy Terrill serves as Vice President – Financial Planning and Analysis at Current leading the financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for both Current and its member firms. Lucy brings over 20 years of financial leadership experience across accounting, finance, strategy, and investor relations. She started her career at EY then spent 15 years in progressive positions at the The Mosaic Company, a Fortune 300 manufacturer, before joining Current. She holds both a Master’s and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida.

John Lowell is the Regional Vice President for the Southeast at Current, where he oversees a portfolio of firms and drives sustainable, profitable growth across the region. With more than a decade of experience in Risk Advisory and Business Development roles across the Americas—from Big Four to regional firms—John has helped organizations navigate change, build new capabilities, and unlock growth in markets including the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, and Latin America. Passionate about leadership and collaboration, he partners with firm leaders to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and scale with the backing of the Current platform. Outside of work, John is an active Big Brother and chairs the Big Brothers Big Sisters Impact Circle for young professionals. He enjoys time with family and being outdoors playing padel or tennis, boating, and fishing.

Andrew Muhlhauser is a transformative business leader with over 20 years of experience scaling private equity-backed and high-growth professional services firms. Before joining Current, he served as an Operator, Founder, CFO, and management consultant with firms including EY, PwC, and Accordion Partners. Andrew has led organizations through periods of rapid expansion and global transformation. At Current, Andrew drives regional growth and operational excellence by uniting people, processes, and technology under a common vision. Known for his ability to balance strategic ambition with disciplined execution, he partners with firm leaders to accelerate top-line performance, adoption of best practices, and full value capture of M&A opportunities. His leadership ensures the Northeast region is not only aligned with Current’s mission, but also positioned to deliver market-leading results for its partner firms.

Rick Chance is the Regional Vice President of the Western region at Current. In this role, he partners with founding partners and firm leaders across the Western United States to help drive growth, succession planning, and AI-enabled transformation while preserving the independence and culture that make each firm unique. Rick brings more than 25 years of experience building and scaling accounting and advisory businesses, having held senior leadership roles at KPMG, BDO, and MUFG. He is passionate about helping firms grow responsibly, strengthen client service, and create long-term value through innovation and operational excellence. Rick received his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and his Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.

Shrey Gupta is VP of Growth Operations for Current. Born and raised in India, Shrey now calls the greater New York City area home. In his role, Shrey is responsible for driving firm integration and value creation initiatives to accelerate the growth of Current’s member firms and reinforce their operations, including development of Current’s offshoring capabilities. Previously, Shrey served as a growth, operations and go-to-market leader at seed through growth stage startup businesses with operations in the United States and India. Shrey received his MBA from Columbia Business School, New York and his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.

Kelli Houdek, VP of Human Capital, excels in a myriad of environments—from startups to large-scale corporations. Her specialties include payroll, benefits, people strategy, and employee engagement. Certified as SHRM-CP and PHR, Kelli prioritizes advancing HR practices that align business goals with employee growth and meaningful engagement opportunities.

Brad Knudsen, CPA, is the VP of Compliance at Current. With over 12 years of audit experience at a top 25 U.S. accounting firm prior to joining Current, Brad brings extensive expertise to his position. He leads the Compliance team, focusing on due diligence and independence matters while supporting the quality control function at Current’s member firms. Brad's analytical skills and industry insights enable him to effectively navigate complex compliance issues and support firms’ adherence to professional standards. He holds both a Master’s and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Florida.

Matt Domit is an accomplished Business Technology Executive with over 25 years of experience. He specializes in enterprise application integrations, transformational leadership, and M&A integrations. A certified CISSP and Data Protection Officer (DPO), he excels in managing information risk and compliance programs. Outside of work, Matt enjoys traveling, outdoor adventures, music, reading, exercise, and exploring new cuisines.

Nathan joins Current as Chief of Staff, Enterprise Performance, focused on enterprise alignment, execution, and performance. He is a transformational executive with extensive experience serving in strategic, operating, and advisory leadership roles across large, complex organizations. Prior to joining Current, Nathan spent more than 15 years at Mattress Firm, the U.S. retail market leader, where he held senior executive roles spanning sales, operations, growth, business development, and enterprise strategy. He is a proven operator across both restructuring and growth environments, with $1B+ P&L responsibility and experience supporting M&A execution and post-transaction integration. He also served as a key member of the executive leadership team during a successful $5B enterprise exit. Nathan holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and has completed executive education certificates at Harvard. His honors include 40 Under 40 (University of Georgia Alumni Association) and Pathways of Honor (American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame).
